So
often and so tragically through the years we grow apart from those we love—husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers.
As
we force our way through the obstacles of life, we sometimes lose
touch, lose sight, and forget. We forget how we once felt, forget
“the way we were” when those relationships were young.
We
all take photographs to remind us of “the way we were.” Too
commonly however, all we have are small snapshots hidden away in
albums or boxes—as much out of sight and out of mind as those
pictured in them. We may take hundreds of snapshots with camera phones
—throwaway images— without ever investing a small amount of time
for images of our relationships that will be cherished for generations
to come. Families used to do that, as witnessed by the great paintings
and photographs of centuries past.

our children as our ancestors left for us.
