Session Fee  The initial consultation is free to you.   If you decide to contract with us for a portrait, we will ask for a $300 session  fee.  The session  fee covers time spent planning and preparing for the photography session as well as the photography session itself and the portrait presentation session.   We accept checks, cash, MasterCard, and VISA.

We have a no-interest flexible payment plan available for MasterCard and VISA credit card users.  This plan allows you to make up to twelve monthly payments from your credit card .  The method that we spread payments over the course of production, however, should make it unnecessary for most people.

If you need to reschedule the photography session and contact us at least 24 hours before the session, we will make every reasonable attempt to accommodate your needs. If we can’t schedule a new photography session to occur within thirty days of the original date, we will return the session fee to you. If you don’t contact us, however, the session fee will not be returned. 

We do understand that children and events sometimes seem to conspire against all of us regardless of our best intentions, so please try to contact us even if time is short--we may be able to work something out. We ourselves won’t cancel a photography session except for illness, hazardous weather conditions, or other similar handicap. In that case, we will certainly return the session  fee, unless you prefer to reschedule the session.  The session fee is also refundable under the terms of the Lord & Darling Portraits satisfaction guarantee.

The session fee also covers travel as far as 30 miles from the Bloomington-Normal area for portraits that we photograph on-location.  An additional $50 is charged for each 30 miles beyond that. No portion of the contract comes into force until the session fee has been paid. We accept checks, cash, MasterCard, and VISA. 

Portrait Order   When you select the images for your portrait package at the proof viewing session, we will require fifty percent of the selected package price. The remainder of the package price will be payable when we deliver the final package. Finished work will not be released without payment of the balance due. 

Over time, we may have to raise prices in response to market pressures. When that happens, we will honor any quoted price from the date of the initial consultation through completion of the contract, unless the completion is delayed for your requirements.   Charges for additional services other than those initially contracted are subject to rates in force at the time they’re ordered. 

Sales Tax We are required to collect Illinois sales tax on all orders taken or delivered within Illinois.
