Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
–1 Corinthians 13, the New Testament of Jesus the Christ
So often and so tragically through the years we grow apart from those we love—husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers. We set our faces like flint to force our way through the obstacles of life, and doing so, we sometimes lose touch. We sometimes lose sight. We forget how we once felt, forget “the way we were” when those relationships were young.
We all take photographs to remind us of “the way we were.” Too commonly however, all we have are small snapshots hidden away in albums or boxes—as much out of sight and out of mind as those pictured in them. We may take hundreds of snapshots with camera phones —throwaway images— without ever investing a small amount of time for images of our relationships that will be cherished for generations to come. Families used to do that, as witnessed by the great paintings and photographs of centuries past.
Let’s make the investment to leave a personal heritage for our children as our ancestors left for us.
That’s where Lord & Darling Portraits comes in for you. Our mission is to preserve long-term visual reminders of family relationships. Our vision is that in this small way, we’ll play a part in families that will always be close and secure. That’s why we emphasize portraits of museum quality to make your portrait a long-lasting investment in the generations to come, as long as He tarries.
Lord & Darling Portraits was spotlighted in Professional Photographer magazine. Read what their article “Family Values” had to say about our mission and vision.
